Hi guys,

Maybe someone could help me here. :)

I'm searching for the best tool to extract and decode PSX XA audio format to Wave audio format (for editing and MP3 encoding).
Have someone already experienced the available tools and could say which one give the best results?

Some XA decoders i've tried gave me results with the same kind of problems that CDDA extraction when there weren't any secure extraction mode on rippers (additional trashy-sounds in the decoded file).

Thanks! :)

I've been looking but never found a suitable audio ripper for PSX. I tried one and it managed to find about one audio file and one video file for the games I put in the drive. Yeah, brilliant program you've got there *smirk* If anyone knows a decent PSX ripper, by all means speak up, damn you!

I recommend PSXMC (http://homepage2.nifty.com/~mkb/PsxMC/)

I use PSmplay. It rips XA -> WAV and STR -> AVI. I like it.

PSXMC does it perfectly.

Yep PSX MC is a nice tool, it got some problems on analysing certain CDs but expecting this, it's very handy.

Also after some fast tests, it looks like this tool don't give bad results on extraction (this seems to depend highly on the CD-Rom used anyway).

It can even do STR > Wave conversion directly, great! :)

Thanks to CKain for giving the URL, i only had an old non-official english translated version before.
