It's not a long time ago, YS VI was confirmed by Nihon Falcom. Will the latest part of the series follow the series legacy, or fall into deeper spots, like its predecesor; YS V? This soundtracks is in my opinion one of the most important in years, and important, I say. Mostly because of one thing; popularity.
Isn't it a lot of people on the net only downloading *new* soundtracks, and of course, the Final Fantasys? If people downloaded YS VI, perhaps they would get interested in downloading (buying...) more YS music, and then downloading more Falcom music, which contains more of the better music in the world. And not to mention, the soundtrack will most likely be superb, just as Zwei!! (Which unfortunately not so many people heard, because it wasn't known.)

I'm really looking forward to a more great effect, as removing some of the Uematsu/Mitsuda fanboys going around at.... spam filled hell (Gamingforce)

Just my thoughts again.

Well, YS always had a big popularity issue. First, it came out on Engine, which was undoubtedly one of the great systems in the early nineties, but mostly underrated. It never came to Europe, thanks to dumb Hudson Co.

And then again most of the games that CAME out were badly done like YS on the SNES (of course they were, because they lacked Red Book Audio, first of all and the cool "Animatics" of the Turbo Duo CD version).

I was an YS fanatic from the first one on till number 3 (and possibly would have played 4 had it come out in english on Duo).

I have big hopes for YS on PS 2 or any other nexgen console. Let's cross fingers for this baby. The screens look fabulous, even in this early stage.

Without the Sound Team JDK of old and the old team of arrangers, I doubt the music will be anything spectacular.

Its not the Zwei!! is bad by any means. I happen to like it a lot. The problem is, its not what you think of when you think of Falcom in its prime. Its hard to say what the soundtrack to Ys VI will be like. We can hope for something similiar to Ys IV....

Correction...

The First Ys came out in 1987 for the Nec Pc 8801.

Besides, You can count that Falcom's New Sound Team is at the same level of the previous one (the ones that are now on the Quintet Softhouse)... Falcom wouldn't let their masterpiece fall in the hands of some unskilled people.

The story, if it's based on the Waku Ohba's novelizations, it'll be SUPERB !

What other Falcom Soundtracks are good? I'm in videogames since the gameboy/snes and I love the soundtracks.
