Thanks to good ol' Coco, I finally got the Double Dragon mini CD from '88. DAMN, what a great (albeit short) soundtrack! 9 tracks of great memories, and surprisingly good sound for a 1980's CD pressing.
Also got Tenchu at long last. Not only do I love the first game, but this soundtrack is amazing. I love the way the composer, Noriyuki Asakura, blends acoustic guitar with orchestra and electronic effects. There are some very cool moments on the disc where it blends styles from different countries and musical traditions (jazz meets sitar, etc.) effectively. And every time that rolling bassline kicks in on track 2, it sends shivers up my spine. Not only that, they've managed to include some sounds from the game at the beginning of some tracks without compromising or taking away from the music itself. Very, very cool disc.
Edit: I understand the US game release has two extra levels/music pieces not on the Japanese CD. Anyone got the music rips to download? Thanks!
Hey Ian, I believe that is a pretty rare album (the DD one). Would you be willing to make me a CDR if I kick you a few bucks so that I can rip it and put it on SD.com?

Wow, that's great. I was listening to and enjoying some Double Dragon music from the Double Dragon album. I look forward to seeing this one on Slightly Dark.
Hmm, PCCB-00175 or NGCD-082E might have what you are looking for. Grab me on AIM sometime after this weekend.

Absolutely! No money necessary, I have CD-Rs to spare. Just give me your address through PM.
Today's discs: the new Shin Contra soundtrack (oh my god, I think my brain is bleeding), and the 2CD Onimusha ost/orchestral set. Looking forward to hearing that one later.
I actually already had a Double Dragon album planned for this months update as well. I am putting up Double Dragon 2 arranged. I hope everyone enoys that. I am ripping it as we speak actually.

Eeeexcellent!! I've never heard that one. I'm also hoping to hear the Ninja Gaiden II Arrange CD someday. It just sold on Ebay for 75 bucks or so, but I'm broke.

I would VERY much appreciate that one Naka! Go on with it!
Iam are you reading my damn mind? Good lord I had that on the update list too, and already ripped it. If you guess the next album, I am going to ask if Eriol or Lent spilled the beans or something ;)

I haven't reviewed your list of albums selected for updates, so I can't leak what I don't know.
*points to Lentium*
I only make sure the main website is orderly and diffuse site problems. I don't handle the music. ^_^
Heh, you just have a bad memory my friend. You helped COMPILE the list a while back. I am sure no one said anything, I am just messing around, its just ironic thats all.

I don't feel like making a whole new thread just to ask a question, so I'll do it here instead: Does anyone know if there's a soundtrack to the PS2 game The Getaway? It's got some cool tunes in it...very much in the recent 007/David Arnold vein.

Nothing wrong with making new threads, you'll probably get better results too, but whatver :p

I would love to have these OSTs too! I'm from Germany, and the broadband support here is terrible! So many people have to use 56k and isdn, and there are only broadband flatrates.
