Hi all

Just to let you guys know that there are 2 good software, or more specifically, front-ends, to the M1 core released bt R. Belmont (http://www.emuhype.com/index.phtml?s=misc&ss=index). The M1 core allows you to listen to music from over 700 arcade games (by Capcom, Sega, SNK, Taito, Konami, etc) from the ROM files.
However, that means you have got to have the ROM files to listen to the music...

Nevertheless, this is great for fans of the arcade games that never released an official OST.

The 2 frontends can be downloaded here:

FoxM1 (http://www.emuverse.com/boards/ubbhtml/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=000717)
Bridge (http://www.emuverse.com/boards/ubbhtml/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=000713)

Discussion forum for the development of the frontends:

Thanks Rince, for replying. However quiet this board might be, I can be sure of at least one reply, and that would be from you.

Well, somehow we have to get this thing going, don't we? ;)

That is a very cool link, Wallace. At least it's something to comfort me since mame.dk bit the dust in terms of ROM offering. *sniff*

very excellent sound emulator for the old arcade games, dam 700+ games which i bet alot of them did not have an official soundtrack! here comes the memories...Karnov, Bad Dudes, Commando, Legendary Wings, Road Blasters.....way cool - oh, grab a frontend called FoxM1 to use with it. it rocks!

Keep the thread rolling, possibly with some MAME-Rom infos - that would be good ;)

We should consider building up a SD exclusive DC Hub... Retro Gamer's Heaven! ;)

I have a TON of MAME/NEO-GEO roms, but no server to host them. Bummer! Hopefully I'll have DSL by summer and I can host a bunch of games for SD folks!

You don't need a server with Direct Connect (Search for it on google!) We should think about someone setting up HUB-soft and then hosting SD, because just joining Quasis hub wouldn't be appropriate for us SDers.

DSL isn't exactly good for hosting, as while it has a very fast download, usually 256 or 512 kbps if I'm not mistaken, the upload is only about 128, which means people can only download from you at 16 kilobytes/second or so. It's reasonable, but not if you plan on having multiple users.

Anyways, you might have already known that, if so, ignore my pointless ramblings :P

However, if you get CABLE by summer, I believe that's a different story altogether...

Hmmm........I'm looking into options. Mostly there's the money issue.

Alternatively, I know of some MAME ROM download sites, but I have no idea whether I am allowed to post the links here or not...

You can download all the Mame roms you want at Mame.dk as long as your logged in. Seems like most people don't know that :p
