Yes, we've all seen some REALLY dumb names for songs. Try and humor us all here by listing those that you know.
I was browsing through Snatcher Battle Perfect Selection and found a song named "Blow Up Tricycle". Now I haven't played the game, but the name is just damn hilarious.
Also, on Shooting Battle Perfect Selection 2. "Kidney Stage" Sure, it's from the game and original and all....but....KIDNEY STAGE! COULD THEY BE ANY LESS CREATIVE?

They could've called it "Liver Stage" and let you ship be attacked by gigantic Kegs of Beer shooting foam bullets.
In Darius Gaiden Full Arrange (The Last Kiss) there's a song that translates "Singing in the Brain", which may be backtracked to the Liver Stage again, possibly.

Obviously Mis-Translated names:
Ys 1 - The Morning Grow (another R=L problem)
Ys 3 - Steeling the will to fight (sounds right when you say it)
Final Fantasy Tactics - Run Past Through the Plain (very conjugation doesn't matter! (nor does pluralization))
Ys 2 - Too Full With Love (with, of, what's the difference)
Ys - Beat of the Terror (1 too many words)
Ys 5 - Turning Death Spiral (umm, what?)
Lilia ~from Ys~ - FALL in Star (...yeah)
Ys 2 - Palace of Salmon (the infamous. seems they can never agree on how to type this. Half the time they say Palace of Solomon, but I have a feeling that it's supposed to be Palace of Sarumon)
Sorcerian - Congratulation! (no comment needed)
Sorcerian - Greivously Shrine (you figure it out)
Sorcerian - Cherish Doll (are you TELLING me?)
Just plain stupid names:
Legend of Heroes 4 - Running Red Blood ~ Smiling Friends ~ (umm, conflicting interests?)
Sorcerian - I am a Game (I don't care in what context this fits into the game, this is a stupid name)
JDK Band 1 - Get in the Wild (no thanks)
Sorcerian - Ars Worm (I don't know what to make of this. I own this album, and when I checked, the first word is spelled out 'Assu', so you can make up your own mind on this one)
Anyways, that's it for me, I hope some other people can come up with some too.

Oh well, when you're looking for the soundtrack with the longest tracknames, I think Super Mario RPG is the one you should look for. Tracks like "The Sword Descends and the Stars Scatter", "Fight Against a Somewhat Stronger Monster", "Grandpa and the Delightful Tadpoles", "Hard Working Moles are Good Moles", "You and Toadovsky Create Exquisite Music", "Fight Against Smithie, who Likes Transforming", they're all long and somewhat ridiculous. Needs more than just one piece of paper to write the whole tracklist down...

I guess in the end it's the music that counts, right? ;)
At least the name gives 'some' idea of what the track is about (although looking at some of the translations here it might have been better off staying with track 01, 02 etc)

On a funny sidenote: I found several tracks of my extensive MP3 collection to be named "Untitled"!
Some of them are from the same artist "Unknown Artist", which is my famous one.

@ Rince: :D Yes, my MP3 library is also very very unorganized. Most of my MP3s are from the almighty "Unknown Artist", but it's always quite funny to guess "Untitled" MP3s...

"Survive or Die" from the Cyberorg OST almost made me crack up when I first saw it.
Also, on the GGX Heavy Rock Tracks CD case, Babel Noise* is written as "Babel Nose". Which is quite funny.
* I think that's what they intended to call it rather than "Babel Nose", but you can never be sure.

I always thought Babel Nose sounded odd. *Renames track.*
I've always thought "Buggie Running Beeps" from Rez sounded kind of dumb, but at least its a good song compared to the repetitive, uninspired songs of "Creation ~ State of the Art" and "Rock is Sponge". Either way, they all sound dumb.
Breath of Fire 3 also had some dumb songs like "Fried Onions" and "Peach Engine", even if they were in context for the game. "Ghuh" isn't much better.
KI KIller Cuts also has some dumb songs (in name and sound) like "KI Feeling", "The Way U Move", "Yo Check This Out", and "Ya Ha Haa".

How about "You Goddamned Bathead" from castlevania chronicle / akumajo dracula x68000? From the same soundtrack as well: "Something loopy" =p
BTW Zeph, even though that snatcher trackname sounds odd, it makes sense in the context of the game. It plays during a scene where a tricycle (seen a blade runner spinner? same thing.) -you guessed it- crashes.

Oh my god, Policenaut! I'm so glad another 'Naut fan joined Slightlydark. Anywho, here are a couple losers track names from GSM Taito 1 (Ninja Warriors):
1) "Are You Lady?"
2) "Sleeping the Pike Man"
3) "Daddy Mulk" (that's not a typo, I said 'Mulk')

Shadow Hearts:
"Bloody Kitchens"
"Coffin Fetish"
"But Dad Dead Bed"
"Babysitter is Old Nurse"
"Sicking Fucking"

LOL, that last one's wild. I kind of like "coffin fetish" though. Sounds like a good band name.

Crashes, eh? My bad, with the context, I though it meant "blow up" sorta like a blow up doll. I couldn't think of anything else.

Heh, you guys should have seen Ikarus Zino's babble fish translation of the Wild Arms 3 soundtrack. Some of the tracknames where absolutely hilarious; I swear I spent about 10 minutes cackling over those.

Here's the Babel Fish translation of some of the tracks on FFX Piano Collections:
3. Beside Island
6. Theme of Rucksack
10. Road of (untranslated kanji) Crime
11. It is Cute Don't You Think?
13. People of Extremely North
And some Amazon.co.uk buyer comments:
"As for the latest piano collection, the beach eddy person has managed arrangement."
"Kuroda of performance, beach eddy of arrangement and composition (Uematsu of rear composition, Nakano),
From the buyer with we would like to say " thank you ", is, (laughing) "
"This review becomes reference and increase is high?"

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has some brilliant Babelfish translations:
"Metamorphosis No. 1" = "Strange Customer No. 1"
"Dance of Illusions" = "Fantastic Dance Music"
"Curse Zone" = "Sacred Precincts of Cursing"
"Wandering Ghosts" = "The Soul Which You Can Wander About"
"The Tragic Prince" = "Your Public Child of Distress"
"Blood Relations" = "Suspicious-Looking Relative"
And "Wood Carving Partita" is a stupid enough name anyway.

Can we stick with actual translations seen on VGM albums or mp3s, not Babelfish translated ones? We know Babelfish does some weird translations.

Actually I think something like The Cursed Sacred Precincts sounds better than Curse Zone.
But yeah, stick with ones on actual cds, not made up translation mistakes.

I've always though "Fatherless Baby" in the Thunderforce V Perfect System sounded dumb. So did "Tan-Tan-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Tan" and "Please Seal it Up!"

OK, here are some _real_ track names, from Bare Knuckle 1:
"Attack the Barbarian"
"Beatnik on the Ship"

Final Fantasy Tactics - "The Pervert"
"Ultema the Nice Body" is pushing it a bit, as well.
uhhh at dinner from grainda OST
well, anyways whats this babel fish translation thing?
Ian Gillseed
10-05-2002, 03:51 PM
It's just a translation service attached to search engines like Altavista for example. You find a website and Babelfish attempts to translate it from its original language into the language of your choosing. It's...how shall I put this...slightly inept. Not bad, considering it's free and fast, but it makes for some unintended hilarity. It's named after the translating fish you stuff in your ear in the classic book Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy. [Sorry this is off-topic!]

Konami is great for bad titles. Akumajo Best Vol. 2:
Bloody Teas
Battle of the Holly
Evil Devil (sounds redundant to me)
Road of Enermy
Road of Enermy #2
Phyco Warror
Chromatische Phantasie (it's a rendition of Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in Dm)
Avaxx

Bah, Karasuman, how dare you mention the godly name that is Sicking Fucking? BAH! Sicking Fucking and Bacon's Juice are two of my favorite names for a VGM track ever.
As for stupid names, just about any name on the Um Jammer Lammy (Or the sequel) soundtrack. The names scare me almost as much as the actual songs do.
This is from the Rockman Special CD Vol. 2 hosted here at SD.
03 - Rockman 3 ~ Magnetman ~ Shall we go on a Magnetic Continuous Tour .ape
Wtf does that mean??

That track is a combination of Magnet Man's theme and the MM3 Password Entry screen

Some of the names from the DDR 5th Mix Sampler GFA had a while ago are so bad I would be embarrassed to publish such an album. Of course, it's that way with a lot of the mainstream 'music' as well.
Ecstacy, Gods of Romance, Oops . . . I Did It Again, and Test My Best. Ugh. The only reason I keep them is so I will always know the horrors of DDR. Not even playing one of the games can make up for such horrid songs in both name and aesthetic lack of quality.

I just got Dracula Best 2 and those song names you mentioned were hilarious, even if they were unintentional translation errors.
Here are some stupid names from Breath of Fire 3:
Peach Engine
Fried Onions
As much as I like the music from BoF3, I always cringe at those songs (both name and music), despite really enjoying the laid back jazz songs from the beginning of the game like "These Little Things".
Wild Arms 3 has some funny ones too, even if the songs are pretty nice
The Stage Is Full of Miscasted Mispeople
That's JUST A RUMOR!!
Let's Run Around, Let's Look Over There!

Metal Gear - Solid Snake: 14 - "!" Red Alert
Was the "!" necessary in the track title? lol

Are you trying to insult me, you imbosilic fuck?
As far as I know, Life Force is where you are a tiny ship going around shooting viruses and other harmfuls inside of a human body.
Thus: Kidney Stage.
Get it? It's a stage, that has a kidney in it. Actually, the stage IS a kidney? Get it? hehe! "Kidney"...."Stage"! KIDNEY STAGE!
=O.....=O
=OOO
Kingdom Hearts - Bustin' Up on the Beach
Persona Be Your True Mind - Fast Food
Guitar Freaks/Drummania - Cosmic Cowgirl, Giant Slug
Guilty Gear X - NO!!, Hello!!, Babel Nose, Suck A Sage
Beatmania IIDX - C-R-A-C-K-Er, Wow Wow 70's

That's "imbecilic" by the way. No offense, my Irony Meter was just pinned in the red on that one, that's all.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the spelling on that one. But I guess it was better I try instead of resorting to a sentence 75% curses.

The Seiken games have had some pretty bizarre song names.
Like :-
The Second Truth From The Left.
Damn Damn Drum.
Female Turbulence. <--- Wuh?

It's been a long time since I listened to the OST, but it could be referring to the kingdom of witches, Althena, from which Angela hails.
Even then, it's a pretty strange name.

The Eratzvaju (Evil Zone) OST has some funny names.
Be Fight
Near by the Death
Sorrow Long Day

This is easily my favorite Megaman song. It's reminds me of that old song from "The King and I," almost a parody of "Shall We Dance?" Can anyone suggest some more MegaMan music along these lines? I already dl'ed all of SD's (Thank you so much!).
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned track 5, on disc 2 of the Final Fantasy Tactics OST...
...Bloody Excrement.
