Seeing as how this board has very different tastes and interests from what I'm used to seeing, I'm interested in seeing what others like as their favorite VGM soundtracks. So, post yours here.
Mine are:
Front Mission 3
Legaia Duel Saga
Vagrant Story
Eternal Arcadia
Saga Frontier 2
Emperor: Battle for Dune (game rip)
StarCraft: Brood War
StarCraft Game Music Volume 1
R-Type Delta
Einhander
Breath of Fire 4
Guilty Gear
Guilty Gear X
Guilty Gear XX
Icewind Dale
Panzer Dragoon Azel
Shadow Hearts plus 1
Elemental Gearbolt (game rip)
Romancing Saga La Romance
Rockman X (Alpha Lyra)
FFVIII
FFX
Tobal No. 1
Valkyrie Profile Arranged
I know it's a lot, but among those it's so very hard for me to pick ones that is better than the others. By the way, if any of you like King of Fighters or Sorcerian music, what would you recommend for me to check out so that I can become more interested in those soundtracks?

Redbook audio:
Anything Ys done on the PC-Engine
Star Parodier
Sorcerian
Gates of Thunder
OSTs:
Guilty Gear X Heavy Rock Tracks
Eternal Arcadia
Dracula X (RoB or NitM)
Dragon Force
Arranged:
Ys Perfect Collection
Ys IV Perfect Collection Vol. 1
Any of the Konami Battle series, but esp. Shooting Battle II
Legend of Zelda Hyrule Symphony
Tokimeki Memorial Piano Collection
Falcom Neo-Classic (though I like the second disc better than the first)
And the mother of them all, Falcom Special Box '94. Greatest album ever.
As for Sorcerian, I would recommend starting with Sorcerian Perfect Collection Vol. 1. It has some very good arrangements on it (the one with the acoustic guitar is especially nice), and is a good intro into Sorcerian music. The other Sorcerian Perfect Collections have some cacophonous tracks, but the ones on Vol. 1 are winners. Sorcerian Super Arrange Version and Symphony Sorcerian are all right as well.

Hmm...I thought nearly half of the OST was done by Nakano and Hamauzu. Most of my personal highlghts of the FFX OST were composed by those two.
Adaman, you like KI - Killer Kuts, eh? I remember that being my first ever taste of VGM. It's a Jungle Brother, Do It Now! and Full Bore were my personal favourites.

How'd you forget Kingdom Hearts Musharraf? After hearing the Deep Jungle theme I may have to buy the OST.

Well, yes, the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack is quite good, too, but I don't like all those Disney tracks, they're way too childish for me. The main theme is amazing, though. Especially the techno version ;)

Just how many Disney themes are there? So far I've only heard the Mickey Mouse March, which was a much better version than I expected since I thought it would be something from the Mickey Mouse Club. The battle and boss themes are amazing though. It's really nice how each world has their own unique battle and boss themes to fit the setting of each individual world.

Oh, there are many more. There are some Arielle and Winnie Pooh tracks, as far as I know an Aladdin track and some others I don't remember at the moment.

I still hold Dracula New Classic dear, also, all the Konami "Battle" albums are some of the greatest and best executed VGM albums out there. Go Kukeihia Club!
But I certainly couldn't decide as to what the BEST would be for me. There are too many good ones out.

You couldn't possibly choose favorites among them all. So much good stuff...if I named one, it would lead to another, and I'd feel guilty for leaving one out....then the one next to it would have to be included. Etc.
Thus, I will only name my all time favorite.
Guilty Gear X Heavy Rock Tracks.

Zeratul, what's the difference between Starcraft OST and the Starcraft Game Music Volume 1 (why the fuck does it even have a number?)

Currently my favorite soundtracks are:
Vagrant Story
Chrono Cross
Dark Reign 2
Legaia Duel Saga
Biohazard 2
Unreal Tournament
Relatively wide mix, if you ask me, but I would suggest any of these for people interested at all in game music.

Starcraft Game Music Volume 1 is a remix album with a lot of different styles. I don't know what the deal with the number is. Maybe they plan a second one.

SC Game Music Volume 1 is a remix CD Zeph, with styles like opera and metal in it. If you can find them, try listening to "For Adun", "12th Area", "??? Theme", and "Zerg are Coming" to see what I mean, because the songs are actually pretty good.
I assume Blizzard plans on making a second one.
The only reason I find out about that CD was because DarkPaladin of GFF had a question about it that sparked my curiousity in the music.

I have to say, my current favorite is one this site hosts, Fire Emblem IV, its just plain amsome. Crossing the Desert is really one of the best, but their all awsome. Suikoden 3 and FFXI OST's are also amazing though.

I just got some new albums in the mail, so my list has some new additions.
Valkyrie Profile
Star Ocean 2
Xenosaga (Just listened to it and am addicted to Last Battle)
Vagrant Story (How'd I forget it on the other list?)
F-Zero X
Wild Arms Advanced Third
Project Majestic Mix Silver - It was much better than I expected with some great remixes. Stephen Kennedy's songs were my favorites though, with "Within the Giant" and "Cayenne" ranking as my favorites. "Sentinel", "Anxious Heart", "You're Not Alone", "Sealed Door", "Coast of the Sun", and "Man With the Machine Gun" were other great songs as well.

I've been listening to a lot of the Nobunaga's Ambition albums recently, and I think that a lot of them quite nearly qualify as favorites now. I especially recommend Zenkokuban Sangokushi and Tenshoki (Chronicals of Heaven).
